The growing complexity of biopharmaceutical manufacturing has made the ability to capture, share and apply organisational knowledge a critical differentiator. Knowledge gaps can directly affect product quality, regulatory confidence and operational resilience, yet many organisations continue to struggle with fragmented systems and the loss of expertise as teams and roles evolve.

Addressing this challenge, BioPharmaChem Skillnet, in collaboration with TU Dublin, is launching a new NFQ Level 9 micro-credential (5 ECTS) entitled Fundamentals of Knowledge Management for Life Science Manufacturing Operations. The programme is designed to support site leaders and senior professionals in strengthening Knowledge Management capability across regulated manufacturing environments.

The 12-week programme focuses on the practical application of Knowledge Management, enabling organisations to support right-first-time execution, reduce repeat deviations, improve decision-making and embed sustainable learning practices at site level.

Rather than treating Knowledge Management as a theoretical concept, the course applies proven principles directly to real operational challenges within life science manufacturing.

Programme Structure and Delivery

The programme combines flexible online learning with in-person engagement and tailored coaching. Participants attend six live, online instructor-led sessions, each lasting two hours, alongside two mandatory in-person interactive workshops accredited by TU Dublin.

Learning is further reinforced through the application of course concepts to a real organisational Knowledge Management opportunity, supported by two dedicated one-to-one coaching sessions focused on project development and implementation.

The programme is particularly relevant for leaders and senior technical professionals across Manufacturing, Quality, MS&T, Operational Excellence, Digital and HR, who are responsible for advancing site capability, performance and long-term resilience.

Free Information Session in January

To support informed decision-making, BioPharmaChem Skillnet is hosting a free online information session on 14 January 2026, providing an overview of the programme structure, expected business impact and suitability for organisations considering participation.

The programme itself commences on 30 January 2026 and runs for 12 weeks.

Strengthening Organisational Capability

As regulatory expectations increase and experienced personnel retire or transition roles, effective Knowledge Management is becoming essential to maintaining operational excellence.

This new Level 9 micro-credential equips participants with the tools and frameworks required to protect critical knowledge assets and build learning organisations capable of sustained performance.Learn more or register for the free information session here.
