Brenntag Pharma has entered a strategic distribution partnership with Evonik to expand access to GMP-compliant amino acids across the European pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical markets.

Chemanager International reports that the exclusive agreement covers most European markets, including the UK, DACH region, France, Benelux, Scandinavia, Central and Eastern Europe, Israel and Turkey. Italy, Ukraine, the Middle East and Africa are excluded from the arrangement.

The partnership will see Brenntag distribute Evonik Rexim's portfolio of pharmaceutical-grade amino acids, supporting manufacturers involved in active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) production and biopharmaceutical development.

Evonik Rexim specialises in the production of amino acids through fermentation, bioconversion and synthetic manufacturing processes, supplying ingredients used in a range of pharmaceutical applications. The agreement is intended to strengthen product availability while providing customers with enhanced local commercial and technical support.

Brenntag said the collaboration aligns with its strategy to broaden access to high-quality pharmaceutical ingredients and reinforce supply chain resilience across key European markets. The expanded distribution network is expected to improve customer access to critical raw materials used in drug manufacturing.

Evonik said the agreement will strengthen its presence across Europe by leveraging Brenntag's established regional distribution network and experience within the life sciences sector, supporting the continued growth of pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturing.

The partnership reflects ongoing investment in pharmaceutical supply chains as manufacturers seek reliable sourcing arrangements for high-quality ingredients, helping meet increasing demand for biologics, advanced therapies and other specialised medicines across Europe.
