Ethypharm has been named winner of both the Health and Safety Award and Pharma Industry Company of the Year at the Pharma Industry Awards UK 2026, held on 23rd September at the Park Plaza London Riverbank. The double win rewards Ethypharm - Transitioning from Compliance to Culture, an entry that moved safety beyond regulatory requirements and into everyday working practice.
Ethypharm transformed health and safety through a digitally embedded Safety Management System, integrating frontline reporting, EHSMS governance, Power BI analytics and leadership dashboards. The initiative improved safety culture and strengthened compliance, reducing waste segregation incidents from 8 to 0, increasing proactive reporting by 165% and protecting an estimated £180k to £520k annually.
In the Health and Safety Award, the judges pointed to the way technology strengthened decision making. "This entrant delivered a significant shift in health and safety by moving beyond compliance towards a more integrated safety culture. The combination of integrated safety management systems, digital command centres, and real time insights demonstrates how technology can strengthen decision making and operational performance," the judges said.
"With measurable improvements, strong governance, and a clear focus on continuous improvement, Ethypharm shows how safety and business excellence can work together," they added.
For Pharma Industry Company of the Year, the judges highlighted the culture behind the results. "Ethypharm has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to building a culture where quality, safety, and continuous improvement are embedded at every level of the organisation. Its approach goes beyond meeting regulatory requirements, fostering a shared sense of responsibility and engagement among its people," the judges commended.
They concluded: "A highly deserving recipient, setting a strong benchmark for the industry."
The result reflects a wider shift across pharma, where digital safety systems and real time data are becoming the standard route to measurable compliance gains, and where leadership teams are expected to show that quality and safety performance support business performance.
