Looking back at the Women in Pharma Awards 2026, held last 29th April at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry, Lisa Mullaney of Medguard Healthcare was recognised with the Best Sales and Commercial Leadership award. The honour celebrated 15 years of commercially astute, values-driven leadership that helped transform Medguard from an Irish start-up into a trusted national healthcare partner.
Lisa Mullaney's journey with Medguard Healthcare is one of the more compelling growth stories in Irish pharmaceutical and healthcare sales. Over 15 years, she played a central role in scaling the company from an Irish start-up to a trusted national partner, culminating in its acquisition by Mediq, a landmark outcome that reflects both the commercial strength of what was built and the quality of leadership that drove it. Her strategic acumen, customer focus, and commitment to operating with integrity throughout that journey have earned her the respect of clients, peers, and the industry at large.
The operational results behind Lisa Mullaney's commercial leadership are equally impressive. Under her stewardship, 107,000 lines were shipped with a 97.5% on-time delivery rate and 99.91% pick accuracy, metrics that speak to the rigour and consistency with which Medguard Healthcare executes at scale. In healthcare innovation and medicines distribution, where reliability directly affects patient outcomes, these are not merely operational statistics but indicators of a culture that takes its responsibilities seriously.
Beyond the commercial and operational dimensions of her work, Lisa established the Clinical Education Academy, a programme that has upskilled 156 healthcare professionals. That investment in knowledge and capability within the sector reflects a commercial leadership approach that extends beyond revenue and into genuine industry impact, strengthening healthcare systems and the professionals who work within them.
The judging panel recognised Lisa Mullaney, a leader whose pharmaceutical leadership demonstrates how growth, trust, and impact can coexist, and how commercial success in healthcare is most meaningful when it is anchored in values as much as performance.
Stay tuned for the Women in Pharma Awards 2027 cycle, where the next generation of remarkable women in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sector will be celebrated.
