French aseptic transfer technology provider ABC Transfer has expanded its pharmaceutical and biotechnology footprint in the UK and Northern Ireland via a new partnership with UK containment specialist Sychem, as reported by Cleanroom Technology

Under the agreement, Sychem will manage the supply, installation, and qualification of ABC Transfer’s aseptic material transfer systems for controlled environments, including isolators and restricted access barrier systems (RABS). Sychem brings over 40 years of experience supporting pharmaceutical manufacturers, laboratories, and controlled-environment facilities.

The collaboration will focus on ABC Transfer’s rapid transfer system (RTS) portfolio, complemented by consultancy, UKAS-accredited validation, servicing, and maintenance. Sychem’s support will cover the full lifecycle of integration, including documentation, validation activities, and operational management within regulated manufacturing environments.

ABC Transfer designs and manufactures sterile transfer solutions, such as rapid transfer ports (RTPs), alpha and beta transfer components, ported sterile bags, and gloveless transfer technologies. These systems enable the safe transfer of tools, components, and consumables between classified and unclassified areas without compromising containment.

“The systems are designed to maintain seal integrity through repeated sterilisation cycles and routine use, supporting contamination control strategies in aseptic processing,” the company noted.

Gloveless transfer solutions further reduce reliance on glove ports, minimising direct operator intervention and strengthening contamination control. The technology is particularly relevant for complex biologics and advanced therapy production, where regulatory scrutiny and aseptic handling are critical.

ABC Transfer’s systems support compliance with EU GMP Annex 1, focusing on contamination control strategies, barrier technologies, and chemical and sterilisation compatibility. The partnership with Sychem positions the French company to meet rising demand for high-integrity aseptic transfer solutions across the UK pharmaceutical sector.
